1000 Clubcard points for signing up to Tesco DVD rental

Got my clubcard vouchers in this morning, and for half a second was tempted to sign up for this service to get the 1000 points. Think every customer is getting this mailshot as it was in both my clubcard statements. There is a code to quote, but the reasons I think it is a con are:

You cannot get a free trial to see if you like them and if they are any good (more on this in a sec)

You HAVE to sign up for a minimum of 3 months

If you are on a free trial just now, the 14 days doesnt count towards the 3 months

Frankly, they are pathetic!! I was with them for 4 months just after the summer last year, and they were pathetic. I only wish I had not stayed with them as long. There are many people who think this as well, as anyone who is a member of https://www.thedvdforums.com will either know or be able to check - thread in suppliers forum about DVD rental companies. Personally for me, they took ages to deliver, were times where no discs were sent out at all for days, wrong discs sent, discs sent that I had just returned!

I am not saying DON'T sign up for it, that is your own choice but I am saying do your own research first, and remember that it will cost £30 over the 3 months minimum to get your 1000 points (£10), and even by then you have missed the next mailing for the vouchers going out, so will be 6 months from now before you get your vouchers

I thought it was £24 over 3 months, minimum? ie £7.97 a month.

Sorry I read it very quickly, thought it said 9.97 a month. Still doesnt sound that appealing to me though.

but the clubcard points are worth 4x their value = £40. So £24 outlay doesnt sound so bad......
