If your pc has PC3200 400Mhz
and you buy PC3200 533MHZ
Your and you use both sticks your new ram will work @ 400MHZ because both sitks need to operate the same speed.

PS! You NEED to make sure your mother board support 1Gb ram most likly it will you need to make sure or it wont work. If you dont understand how you give me your Make/Model of your Motherboard and ill glady check it out for you!0 -

Cheers for your help, i ended up buying the 400mhz one. Sorry i simply cant afford to spend over double for factory sealed & i checked and my motherboard supports up to 4GB0 -
