Unknown activity on my Credit Card

Morning all,

I have checked my credit card statement online this morning and my account has been credited with £20 and in the details section it says 'SPEND 1000 GBP AND KEEP YOUR CREDIT '

Has anyone got any idea's what this is?

Many Thanks

Which card? Have they recently run a promotion?

It is a Nationwide Gold card.

As far as I know I havent signed up to any promotions. I have recently made a purchase of £1638 which is unusual for me.

Hmm. Don't know. Sounds like a promotional offer but an odd one (ie applying the credit then taking it off if you don't spend the £1000). Though maybe it's badly worded and you've actually received the credit for the prior £1k you spent (and just didn't know about the promo).

Only one way to find out - give them a call. They should have the promo description on the screens and can tell you what it means.

    Hi,
I have had the same on my Nationwide Gold Credit card. Just tried phoning to find out, but got cut off when pressed the option to speak to someone, rather than listening to the automated service about by current balance. Great.
If you find out what it is, let me know on here!
    Thanks

After speaking to Nationwide it turns out it is a promotion that they are currently running.

My account has been credited with £20 and as long as I spent £1k on my CC in May and June I get to keep the £20. If I do not spend £1k in May and June the money will be taken from the account again.

I asked if it has to be 1 transaction of £1k or over but I was informed that as long as I spend £1k in total over the two months I get to keep the £20.

Seems like a strange deal and not one that I have heard of before. Apparently some information has been sent in the post but I havent seen it.

Interesting. Bizzare way of running it though. Potentially causes all sorts of problems will people making what they think is a full balance payment, only to have £20 show back up in a month or two.

Thanks for letting us know though.
