website hosting?

I am currenly using 1and1 to host both of my businesses websites.

I dont really understand too much about these sorts of things - although I am happy with one of the websites that I have, the other one is different and I am finding it hard to update the website (pictures wont download properly, I cant add tables etc.)

Can anyone recommend a really simple, straightforward hosting site? I am sick of messing around with this and might even just pay someone to sort it out for me at this rate!

It will depend on what tool you are using to edit your site with, to a degree.

But have you considered an all-online solution like Wordpress or Joomla, which mean you do all your updates in your browser?

    Can you explain more?

If you use (say) FrontPage or Newvu to update your website, the host you need will have different requirements (eg Front Page Server Extensions).

If you are thinking about a whole revamp, try looking at http://wordpress.com/ or maybe https://www.drupalgardens.com or sites.google.com which allow you to just tweak the sites in your browser more easily than inserting tables and images etc by editing the HTML on your own computer.

I dont use frontpage - I do just use the sites to update, but I dont find it very easy as it never seems to work properly! if you say that frontpage etc,. is harder then it probably isnt a good idea to change how I am doing it already :o

Frontpage is long retired, don't get behind an ancient technology!

Give drupalgardens a try, for free, and see if it is easier to update than your current service - it is based on very very common, solid technology, so would last you many many years :-)

Yeah, but it was more than a rebadging - it is a completely different and commercial product. It doesn't use FPSE's, is much more standards compliant, and is a complete ground-up replacement. In fact the last FrontPage release was nearly 8 years ago! Can you beliebve it, doesn't time fly!!!

Microsoft Office 2010 (Frontpage, Visio, Project, Onenote).

MS were using and releasing FP until last year

Which version of Office 2010? I can't find that? http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/buy/office-2010-which-suite-is-right-for-you-FX101825640.aspx I'm not even convinced it was in Office 2007? If there was any vestige of FP, it was as a sharepoint front end, but I am not convinced. Visio, Project I can find 2010 versions of, but not FP2010 - can you send a link to it?
