I think the problem is that some individuals are pretending to be working for 30 hours a week to gain maximum working tax credits whilst saying they make no profit or a loss, year after year after year and so instead of finding a job that would pay them a wage they continue to pretend to work lots of hours on self employment that will never make a living for them.... lots of these types of self employment have been quoted on here in the past.

I can understand the government wanting to tighten up the system and check people are not just pretending to working lots of hours at their self employment/business whilst doing nothing/or very little. Hopefully there will be a grace period for the genuine who wish to set up in self employment but this loophole is really a way for some types of individuals who don't want to work to play the benefits system - Avon round 30 hours per week (the paperwork is very time consuming you know:rotfl:and then not have the hassle of jobseekers allowance or work.

If you have made a loss for the last two years and rely on tax credits to survive and spend your time waiting for people to order if might be time to think about looking for something that will earn you a living? Perhaps the online record sales are not such a great idea after all? You do actually state you do very little. Do you want to support yourself in the future or do you intend making a loss for many years into the future with working tax credits actually paying your bills/keeping you doing very little? The country really cannot afford you anymore their are some very vulnerable people in Society, my friend has a severely disabled son and there are also others who take take take and hopefully the government will sort the genuine from the not so genuine to save the taxpayers (of which I am one) some money.
