As i was saying there is no reason for me to need to be kept up to date with changes in which are purely semantics.

And what are you talking about now. Where have i been saying it is legal to have no insurance. Weren't you the one that said the Police have no insurance? And i said the opposite. As far as i am aware they now have a policy very similar to the Ambulance Services since Crown Indemnity was no longer used. Funnily enough a lot of the organisations that had this also seem to have crests on the side. Post office was one, as were the plod and ambos.

I know i am not alone in looking forward to the next time you get banned.

    You really are a pedant.

It won't be long before the user name you are using now is also banned.

You will soon be running out public libraries to rejoin from.

Nice to see that you continue to post abusive rubbish aimed at those that are in a position to know more about certain things.

Funnily.enough i am:) not a Policeman and currently the Government and CPS doesn't ask for my permission regarding what they call offences, as such there is no

IIRC the police have a pretty much blanket exemption (in law) to most of the normal traffic and speeding restrictions, but any use of it is at "own risk" and should be justified.
Individual forces have their own policies of where, and when their officers can use the exemption and if an officer doesn't follow those guidelines they can be done like normal drivers.

There is zero requirement for the car to be lit up like a disco, or for it to be wailing, again the regulations and guidelines for the individual forces will decide when they have to, and when it's up to the officers discretion (I suspect most people would get rather upset if they lived on a main route, and multiple times every night the police went past with the sirens on when there was no need from a warning point of view).

Might be worth adding that one set of red lights that should never be disobeyed are those at Level Crossings, regardless of the blue & twos....I've not looked, but I assume there's legislation.
  • Police only have three main exemptions under the RTA.

1)To treat a red light as a give way.
2)To go to the right of a keep left sign.
    3)To exceed the speed limit.

There is no blanket exemption and using one of the exemptions is no defence to dangerous driving either so it all still needs to be safe.

Are there more or do they only have 3?
  • Just three.

Others can be claimed by anyone in certain circumstances.
