Would recommend the Foundling Museum, though it's heartbreaking too......it's only a short walk from the Charles Dickens Museum so you could easily do both on the same day and then perhaps explore Lincoln's Inn Fields http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lincoln's_Inn_Fields which is nearby.
The only place that I'd need to pay is the London Transport Museum at £13.50. Although tickets are valid for one year afterwards.Saving money right, left and centre0 -

I've been to the Dulwich Picture Gallery. It's in a very nice area but quite a way off the usual tourist trail. It's a small gallery with mostly 17th & 18th century paintings from European "Masters". (I was a bit bored because I prefer more modern art. They do sometimes have exhibitions of more recent pieces though.)
As nice as it is, to be honest I'd only bother to visit if you're already going to be in the area or if you especially want to see a particular exhibit or one of the temporary exhibitions.0 -
Not such a bargain then as Kew Gardens costs £13.90
Exactly. I had a Historic Royal Palaces membership for a year and that's when I found out this snag for Kew Palace.
The HRP is expensive and only covers Hampton Court, the Tower, Kensington Palace, Kew Palace, and something else I can't remember, but it's worth it just for Hampton Court in my opinion as that's a place you can go back to time and time again. I wish they'd do an offer!0 -
Massive thanks to the OP - my son starts full time reception class in sept and we are using every afternoon after his morning nursery stint to go out and explore with him. We adore Dulwich picture gallery but its steep to get in. THIS IS AMAZING! Thank you soooooooooo much!:j:money: Saving money, saving the environment and saving space (aka decluttering) - my motto this year!0

I've been to Ham House and Garden..lovely place especially if you go on a sunny day..the gardens are really beautiful.. The day we went they were filming Little Miss Dorrit inside....Chiswick House is also supposed to be lovely...
I've also just realised that it gives entry to Royal Pavilion in Brighton....together with the family railcard (on another thread).... this could be a good day out!A friend is a present which you give yourself (R.Stevenson)

Quick question for all those who have received theirs.....were they all dated until 31/8/11? Should I just apply for ours already or wait until the last week in May?
Thanks.
PS Shame about Kew Gardens expensive admission0 -

yeah they were both dates 31/8.. I think it's a standard date...apply in May no matter when and you get 31/8 ...Lots to do with those tho.A friend is a present which you give yourself (R.Stevenson)

Thank's for this, there are a few places near us that we can use this for, signed up for 1 for all 3 of us using different email addresses.
Hi - I've signed up this morning for 4 of us, using the same email address for convenience sake, & home address. I've only had one confirmation though.
Has anybody done this & still received your passes, or have you used different email addresses?
Thanks - KarenI would love to be lazy but can't find the time:exclamati0 -
