Will my daughter be entitled to anything?

My 27 year old daughter was taken in to hospital ten days ago. She rents a flat on her own and is employed and paying full rent. I have spoken to her boss and have been informed that after this months wages she will be going on to SSP as she has only worked there for 11 months and has had a few absences(her words).

I know she is probably going to be in hospital for a few weeks and really isnt well enough at the moment to sort anything out herself. I was wondering if she will be entitled to any help. Someone told me she may get some help with her rent and council tax??

She may be able to get low income benefits such as council Tax Benefit and Housing Benefit.

It may be worth you contacting her local council if she's unable to do it herself and seeing what needs to be done to apply. It may be possible for you to pick up the appropriate forms and fill it out for her if she gives permission.

Thanks for your help. I am going to ask if there is some one available at the hospital to maybe help with benefits......just been told there often is:)
I will definately phone her local council too:)
