You are better off saying what you want to use your computer for.

If you want a laptop, why not read the first sticky on this board?

"Tier1Online" is a good site and is almost what I'm after. Maybe I just need to look a little further on there.

What I'm after is not an absolute top spec PC but in the first instance I’m after a PC Desktop for connecting to my TV to run Windows 7 Media Centre.
    - Minimum 2.0 GHz Processor
    - 2 – 3 GB RAM
    - Minimum 150 GB Hard Drive
    - DVD – RW
    - NO Operating System
    - No monitor or speakers etc.

And if possible a graphics card that will allow HD quality play back but I will purchase that elsewhere if necessary

might be just as easy to build your own,

although Dinopc seem to do well priced systems with some customisation, although the build time estimates can be somewhat optimistic from what you read
    Drop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)

If you go down the self build route perhaps look at a http://www.novatech.co.uk motherboard or bare bones bundle and drop in a graphics card of your choice

(double check the PSU is powerful enough and has enough connectors)
