paypal problem advice needed

hi other half changed his debit card as the chip was faulty and was having problems using it so the bank sent him a new one.. tried to log onto paypal to change the details and getting this

Protecting the security of your PayPal account is our primary concern, and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause".

its asking for his card details to verify the account trouble is he hasnt got the card as he cut it up..he cant get into his account any other way to change it.. can anyone make any suggestions

we have tried emailing but nothing as yet?

rang ebay they no help.. say theynothing to do with paypal ( load of baloney)

eventually got hold of someone at paypal and they no help.. told to get hold of bank and get old card details.. .. he went through all the security questions with paypal they know who he is .. all he wants to do is change his card details... and they insisiting he has to get in touch with his bank to get old card details ... The bloke not very nice either must have disturbed his sunday roast.

They bloody useless .. another long term customer fed up

You may have to be persistent with either than bank or paypal. The verification details are quite strict and of course if they allowed someone to 'get round' the problem they might just be allowing a scammer in, I suspect that is why paypal are so very rigid with their rules.
