hiya my car broke down friday evening up a very big mountain...i have a daewoo matiz when my bf came to rescue me he said there was no oil or water in the car doh!! we put some oil and water in but it still didnt work...i left the car on the mountain in a lay by and sat morning got a garage to tow it and supposedly fix it...
the man in the garage rang me about 3pm sat and said it was fixed and would cost 80 so i paid this and left making sure i got a receipt...
however i have just taken the car to the local shop and when i get back to it it wont start again...
my question is as the garage said they fixed it and they obviously havent do i have to pay again??? or should they tow and fix it for free... had to get a taxi back from the shop and it wasnt cheap either lol

daewoo matiz
recover car
compression test ok
clean spark plugs
and distributor cap
and air filter box
£80.00 paid cash0 -
Thats a good price for what they have done... so I would just put it back to them and get them to sort it.. intermitant faults can be a real pain!!!0

It maay be something else entirely, why dont you just give them a ring and see what they say.
Is it doing anything when you turn the key, is it turning over or is it doing nothing.
You may have damaged something else while there was no oil in it.
You really should check your levels every month as well as your tyres.
You can get RAC cover for a year for a measly £15 for peace of mind.
To be honest, I think you did well to get it for £80, they can charge at least that for recovery let alone anything else.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
take it back and argue the case?
lucky not to have siezed your engine with no coolant or oil0 -
No case to argue... it obviously left the workshop working!0

Eighty pounds....I think you got a bargain to be honest. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
£125 call out recovery fee here in my area. i believe the held their bargain they got it going.
at that rate they charged you it maybe worth going back and getting them to look at it again and call you with a QUOTE inc parts labour and VAT once a quote is given to you you can request them start the work to that value and NO MORE if its going to exceed the original quote they are to call you first to make a decision as to whether you want them to go ahead with the extended repair.0
