in Credit cards
In around 2008 in had a credit card with Mint which after moving house i forgot about and it got passed to debt collection and i payed it off. Last month I went about reclaiming charges from Mint which I got £100 of £168 back which I was more than happy with, however when looking at my credit file i realized rather than the 6 defaults they should have recorded they recorded 10, some of which were well after the debt was passed onto whoever. I then re-wrote to Mint stating this and asked as a gesture of goodwill to remove all the records and they admitted there mistake. However they said they could only re-adjust the incorrect ones.
My question is should and if so what compensation I should ask off Mint.
My argument against this is they could have resulted in rejection for credit. Yes I do understand that the difference between 6 and 10 defaults is little as even 6 has trashed my credit record.
Thanks!!

I doubt you will get any more than a nominal amount for your time. Any number of defaults more than two or three will be more or less the same in the eyes of most lenders.0

a default is a very specific thing, Mint will have not recorded 6 defaults
what they will have done is late payment markers, which is very different indeed from a defaultIt's a health benefit ...0 -

It's a very weak argument in my opinion. You'll find it very difficult to get compensation for something that "could" have happened. My question is should and if so what compensation I should ask off Mint.

You could try escalating the complaint but, as you say yourself, you've little to gain really as regards your credit file.0 -
