Travel insurance for a longer trip + slight complication

Hi all, I posted this on the travel forum but received no replies so I'm hoping somebody could help here
My mum, brother and I are going to India for 40 days in August.
Travel insurance is quite confusing though, because we aren't able to insure as a family (I am over 18 but my brother is under). But we also cannot go as individuals as my brother is still a minor.
I have been searching for the best deal for my mum and brother as family and myself as an individual. Would this be the best way to go about it?
The cheapest price I have found so far is top notch cover which is £76.95 for the three of us, which is reasonable, but that would be with me on silver cover and my mum and brother on gold (which is the only cover available as a single parent family).
Also, the cover only allows family defined as 2 adult parents + minors or a single parent family. Although on this occasion my mum will be the only parent travelling, she is not a 'single parent' as traditionally defined, as in, she is still married to my dad. Will this make a difference?
Does anyone have any other suggestions as to how I could get us all insured without it getting too complicated? And if anyone could recommend a company they used in a similar situation I would be grateful! Thank you

As far as the minor goes, you can get a child insured on their own policy at Direct Travel.0
