Does anyone know if you can merge your no claims from two policies onto one?

Nice idea, but you'd have to find a creative underwriter to follow you down that route :p

Remember that at the other end of the scale, there are hoards of us who have for years been banging their heads on the 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 year ceiling (whatever it is with the various underwriters) yet some of us may actually have been driving for three or four times those periods with no claims.

Whilst it has always been something of a quirky scheme, it has never been about accumulating claim-free years like clubcard points, now has it? ;)

No you cannot merge your NCD sadly.. you have 1 years NCD to use on 2 policies or 1 years NCD to use on one policy :)

I have recently had insurance and the brokers asked how many no claims I had, they said if I send all the no claims then I would be intitled to a comulative no claims which would be double.

So I take it some companies can do it.

    Hope this helps

alastair.long would help us all by telling us which insurer has agreed to let him use separately earned NCD on a single new policy.

Broker was steveyhead, dont know if the insurance company I am with is the one that accepted it, currant insurance Highways.
There is also a local "insurance shop" and they advised my farther that if he shows his new policy, they would give the second policy for 5 years discount, and start year 1.

It is a trade policy so dont know if it makes any diffrence.

Your policy schedule/particulars of insurance or similar document will tell you. Against your personal details it will state the number of years NCD you have.
