American Visa

I have applied for Visa's for my holiday to USA but I can't find any information what happens after I have filled in the form. So do I get hard copies or any confirmation? There is no telephone number either to phone which isn't helpful.
Thanks

You don't need a visa for a holiday to the USA (assuming you hold a British passport).
Do you mean your ESTA? If so you don't need a copy, but they should email to confirm you've been accepted 48hours or so after submission. You can print that if you like.

Note your submission number down, you need that in the future if you revisit and need to change details.

Have you applied for a visa, or ESTA?
    It makes a difference....

have they started sending emails now? It's been awhile since hubby applied but he never received anything (assuming it's ESTA the OP is talking about)...most people receive an approval immediately - some it takes a few hours or days, but you may have to go back to the website to see the status.

You can go back to the site and if you don't have the reference number you were given you can put in your passport details to check the status...you could print that screen if you wanted - but you don't need it...don't foist it at the border agent, it's an electronic scheme.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

If it is the ESTA, you don't need the application number to check the status.

They don't send emails. If I recall correctly, when I applied it told me to come back in 24hrs or so to check on the status.
I did it just before you had to start paying for it....

British Citizens without an criminal record don't need a visa, but an ESTA.

I have twice applied for an ESTA and didn't get an email so if they are sending one it it must be a very new thing. Both times for both of us we've had the authorisation number immediately without waiting.

I did print them off, but have never been asked for it as it's an electronic system. I have however been asked a couple of times if we have an ESTA, but they can see it on their screens anyway.

Hi, yes it is an ESTA. I haven't had any correspondence with them, I have the number for each passport, I didn't want to get to the airport and for it to wrong! :)

Didn't have to do that in April.
You still have to do a customs form.

Thanks for the reminder - I must get in touch with them

I applied and got the three visas for us when we go away in July, however, I put in dd's passport number with my name and visa versa so I should do something about that as we don't want to turn up at the airport and come face to face with hassle!
