CLUBMOBILE - watch out for the con

Clubmobile based in Manchester (https://www.clubmobile.co.uk) and a division of celltalk.
They are supposedly one of the biggest mobile phone providers.
I rang them in July to get a quote for new phones. Spoke to a representative who gave details of the latest Orange deal with two new phones Motorola V500 and V600 with bluetooth headsets for each on Talk 400 upgraded to Talk 800 for six months. He then quoted me the price.
I double checked and then asked if the price was incusive of VAT. He stated it was.
I then shopped around at various other sites including carphone warehouse etc and couldn't get another deal to match, so I rang back.
Spoke to the same representative who ran through the deal again. I reconfirmed the price and the deal I was getting. I then signed up.
I received the phones three days after they were connected (but still had to pay for three days connection)
A bluetooth was missing
I then recieved my orange bill and found that I was being billed 30GBP more a month than I was quoted. I also had another phone on my bill that I knew nothing about.
Despite phonecalls, emails and letters the matter was unresolved for over two weeks.
In the end Orange took my complaint on for me, whilst suspending my account.
I have now been offered a 180GBP cheque from Clubmobile for the difference (which I am yet to receive)
I have eventually received the extra bluetooth and the extra phone is being removed from my account.
The warning is - ask for a written quotation - don't accept anything you are told over the phone - the saleman clearly lied to me and if you have been misquoted - complain immediately and persist. Your network provider can help too.

I used this company a couple of years ago..and was very happy with the service I received...its disappointing to hear their customer service has dropped so much.....cheers for the warning!
