This is the wireless key that is needed to connect your router to the PC.
If It's a BT home hub then the key is normally on a label on the back of the router. The box that the router came in will have a card with the wireless key on it.
Otherwise please post the make and model number of your router.
As I said in another thread, paper doesn't crash. It's a really good idea to write this sort of information down where you can find it again in a couple of years time.
Got distracted and didn't post quickly enough - please ignore my ramblings.

Is there a label underneath that says user name and password
i second the idea about writing it down,0 -
Do you have any network cable? The default passkey is supposedly 'preinstall' but the first time you connected you would have been prompted to change it along with the SSID.0
-
if you changed your SSID (IE paul sue) then you must have logged into the router to change it, possibly changing your key along the way.
if the printed key on the bottom of your router doesnt work (or on the printed business card in the box) then you can factory reset your router. note: make sure that you actually find the default code first, if its not on the bottom of the router then it will be printed on something that came with the router.
if your old machine was actually working you could have tried something like this0 -
If you havent changed the password to loginto the router then its password and username is admin, im on virgin cable myself
oh is it virgin cable you have0 -
I never set it up in the first place a friend of mine did it.....just phoned hime and he was sure that he had wrote it under the router...just checked and sure enough it was there....simple thing to do and it can save you a lot of trouble.....i a happy now...:beer:0
