local housing allowance Help Please

HiI am bit confused with the local housing allowance, please help.
What I want to know is can you find any properties that you want or does the local authority have a list of homes available on that scheme that you have to choose from????

If looking at private rental it is up to you what property you want to rent as long as you can afford it.
Visit your local authority website for the (LHA)allowances for your circumstances and then you will be in a position to know what rental properties you can afford.
If you wish to apply for council properties or housing association ask at your local council office for an application form.
There tends to be waiting lists for this type of housing and it is based on a number of criteria or points system such as vulnerability as to what category you will be put in.Forums can be/are a good guide to entitlement and it is good practice to back it up with clarification from the relevant department/specialist with written confirmation to safeguard yourself.0
