Help!
Yesterday I received a parking charge from Parking Eye from parking at a hotel car park (letter sent 17 days after the alleged incident). I was not driving my car, my husband was and he was at the hotel meeting a client. He said he did not notice any signs etc saying he had to pay to park there.
I have read all threads about ignoring private parking companies but should I write to them simply stating that i was not the driver of the vehicle at a time? I was actually at work so I can prove it. Do they have the power to request I tell them who was driving?
Or should I just completely ignored them?
I know this has been discussed at length but I really don't know what to do - i don't want bailiffs knocking at my door!
Thank you

Usual advice - ignore it. No they can't compel you to say who was driving but as you're not going to communicate with them it doesn't matter. You won't get baliffs calling. For that to happen Parking Eye will need to take the DRIVER ( who they don't know ) to court ( which they won't ), win ( which they won't ) and then for said driver to not pay what the court says. Even if a miracle happens and they find the driver, get to court and persuade the magistrate they are right all they can claim is damages due to the "broken" contract. Given it's likely it was a free car park for users of the hotel that would make a big fat ZERO that can be awarded. All aboard the Gus Bus !0

So why don't you follow the advice contained in the 3500 threads that are in essence identical to your own??
Very few posters suggest doing anything other than ignoring them.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why then you're as thick and stupid as the moderators on here - MSE ForumTeam0
