Hello.. could someone help me draft a letter up to send to the TV Licence people please..
They continue to harass me with threats and visits and i am a very poorly person with having severe migraines constantly from a cyst on the brain plus other disability and always too ill to talk or find the right words to them, i do not watch any BBC at all full stop, or watch tv and do not know the correct words to send to them.. please help.. many thanks :cry
You can tell them you don't need a licence online here
https://www.tvlicensing.co.uk/cs/no-licence-needed/about.app
You just need to give your name. address. select the reason why you don't need one (e.g only use TV for playing games / watching DVDs) and then submit.
I've found doing this means you don't get any further communications for a few years, and they then write to you to ask you to repeat the process if still applicable.0 -
Or alternatively, just bin the letters from them unopened0

You don't need a Licence just to own a TV.0 -

This is incorrect.
Simply owning a television does not mean you need a licence.Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid0 -

I tried to do that with a vacant property.
However, I could not get very far as it asked for the date when the property would be occupied and there was no where to state 'unknown' and I am not making up a date to suit their website.0 -

Except the poster says thatThey continue to harass me with threats and visits and i am a very poorly person with having severe migraines constantly
Therefore I'm suggesting that the slightly less than minimum effort required for them to go through a short online process might be worth it to stop the OP feeling threatened.0 -

True.
TVL do say they may have to confirm your declaration with a visit which the poster may still find threatening.
Getting out of the being threatened mindset is the first step.Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid0 -
Ignore them, dont talk or sign anything, they have no rights to enter your house.
Look at some youtube videos on the subject.0 -
