Terms & Conditions

To enter you must be a resident of the United Kingdom aged 18 or over. The promoter of this prize draw (the “Prize Draw”) is HomeAway Holiday-Rentals, operated by HomeAway UK Limited (the “Promoter”). The Prize Draw is not open to employees of HomeAway Holiday-Rentals, their agencies or associated companies, or the immediate families of anyone associated with the Prize Draw. By entering the Prize Draw, you agree to be bound by these rules.

- No purchase necessary. A purchase will not increase your chances of winning. You can enter the Prize Draw through: 15birthday.homeaway.co.uk. You will be required to take a quiz. So long as you provide all the information requested and take the quiz, you will be entered in the Prize Draw. There is no other method to enter the Prize Draw. Each person may enter the Prize Draw a maximum of one (1) time per day. All information submitted will be subject to the Privacy Policy of the Promoter as detailed here: http://www.holiday-rentals.co.uk/info/about-us/legal/privacy-policy. The Prize Draw closes on 3rd June 2011 at 11:59 p.m. UK time; entries submitted after that time will not be entered in the draw.



- The winners (the “Winners”) of the Prize Draw, which will be randomly drawn by the Promoter. The prizes for Winners will consist of:

• one (1) luggage tag will be awarded each week of the Prize Draw (a total of 11 luggage tags will be awarded);
• one (1) digital camera will be awarded each month of the Prize Draw (a total of 3 digital cameras will be awarded); and
• one (1) Winner will receive the “star prize” of £1,000 towards a stay in a property or properties listed on, and booked through, the HomeAway Holiday-Rentals site (www.holiday-rentals.co.uk).

There is no cash alternative available for any prize.
For the “star prize,” confirmation of booking with the property owner or owners must be provided to the Promoter by sending an email to HomeAway Holiday-Rentals via the address provided in the prize confirmation email before funds are released from the Promoter and the stay must occur within the one (1) year period following the notification to the winner that he or she won the star prize, at which time the star prize shall expire. The star prize winner must provide proof of the rental rate payable for the property (“Rental Cost”) by sending the property owner’s confirmation of the booking and the total amount payable to the email address provided by HomeAway Holiday-Rentals in the prize confirmation email. The Promoter will be responsible for paying to the property owner or owners the amount the Rental Cost up to a maximum of £1,000, provided that should the Rental Cost (1) come to less than £1,000, the Promoter will forward the difference by cheque or bank transfer (as specified by the Winner) to the Winner, or (2) exceed £1,000, it will be the duty of the Winner to pay the excess to the relevant owner/owners. For the avoidance of doubt, the Winner must bear his/her own travel and other costs in connection with the property rental. By accepting the prize and booking a property or properties listed on HomeAway Holiday-Rentals, Winners and their accompanying travel companions accept and acknowledge the terms and conditions of the Promoter as detailed here: http://www.holiday-rentals.co.uk/info/about-us/legal/terms-conditions.

- The Winners will be informed of prize delivery details by email. The Winners of the luggage tags will be informed during the week of the Prize Draw that they entered. The Winners of the cameras will be informed within two (2) weeks following the month in which they entered. The Winner of the star prize will be informed by email within two (2) to four (4) weeks following the close of the Prize Draw. A list of the Winners' names and counties can be obtained by sending an SAE to: HomeAway Holiday-Rentals, Hythe House, 200 Shepherds Bush Road, London W6 7NL.
- The Promoter reserves the right to amend the closing date of the Prize Draw without notice in the event of circumstances outside its control.
- The Promoter reserves the right to verify the eligibility, age, identity and e-mail account of entrants, and entrants agree to provide such information as the Promoter may reasonably request in this connection.
- The Promoter will not be responsible for any payment of any costs, expenses, fees or taxes associated with the receipt or use of any of the Prizes.
- By entering, entrants agree to be bound by the decisions of the Promoter and these Terms and Conditions and to comply with all applicable laws and regulations. The Promoter, and those working for Promoter or on behalf of Promoter, will not be responsible for lost, late, or misdirected e-mail, or for Internet, computer hardware and software, phone, and/or any other technical errors, malfunctions, and delays or any human error which may occur in the transmission, attempted transmission, receipt or processing of the entries. Entries that are delayed for any reason, incorrect or incomplete will be disqualified. The Promoter may refuse to award a Prize, or seek its recovery, in the event of the relevant entrant's fraud, dishonesty, or non-entitlement under, or breach of, these Terms and Conditions. In the event of a dispute concerning the identity of the person who submits an entry, the entry will be deemed to have been submitted by the holder of the e-mail account from which the entry is made.
- The Winner(s) may be required to participate in promotional and publicity materials at the reasonable request of Promoter. These include publishing of the Winner’s name and photo on The Promoter’s website and on Promoter’s page on Facebook. Each entrant agrees that if he or she becomes a Winner: (i) where requested to do so, he or she will participate in promotional and publicity materials in connection with the Prize as detailed above, and (ii) agrees to provide rights to the Promoter for the exploitation of the foregoing in any and all media throughout the world in perpetuity without any payment to any Winner or his or her chosen companion(s) whatsoever. Promoter will not publicize detailed personal information about the Winners.
- In the event of any dispute concerning the operation of any part of the Prize Draw, the decision of the Promoter shall be final.
- The Promoter assumes no responsibility for damages, losses or injuries that result from acceptance or use of any Prize to the maximum extent permissible under applicable laws.
- The Rules shall be exclusively governed by the laws of England and Wales and the courts of England shall have non-exclusive jurisdiction in relation to any disputes arising there from.

It worked fine for me albeit a little slow. You take the quiz (daily) and then it tells you if you've won or not. Mine was unlucky but apparently I am still entered in the main competition.
