charity accepting baby items?
Hi, does anyone know of a charity that could make use of baby feeding bottles (new, boxed,) steriliser, bottle warmer, stairgates etc.
this is assuming charity shops dont take electricals?
would like to donate somewhere that could make use of it- thinking maybe women's shelters or something, I dont know?
any suggestions?

I think a womans shelter is a good idea.0

Certainly worth asking a Women's Shelter, if you have one locally. However they may not be able to, because eg with the stairgate, they may not be able to confirm that it is safe. Charity shops may be the same.
However I think there is a charity near us which DOES take these items and check them over before passing them on. The name escapes me atm, and I could be wrong, if it comes back to me I'll post again!
Some charity shops do take electricals: if they have qualified people to check them over, they will.
Faintly possible your HV would be able to pass them on to a good home, or any local parent and toddler groups?Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
you could try your local homestart http://www.home-start.org.uk/homepage as they welcome all stuff like this for families who are on low incomes etc.***MSE...My.Special.Escape***0

Hi samsil
Women's shelter is a great idea! DV often starts during pregnancy and often new moms have to move into a refuge with almost nothing. You can find a list of local DV services here. It's also worth calling your local charity shops to see if they take electricals, some do and some don't - you can find a list of oxfams here or BHF here0 -
I do voluntary work for a LIFE Pregnancy Care Centre, its worth seeing if there is one in your town. We always need baby items, pretty much anything and everything as we give them to women in crisis pregnancies. Often they are fleeing domestic violence or are teenagers who have been kicked out of home for getting pregnant and we always have a long waiting list for baby equipment.0

Some charity shops will take electricals - we got a steriliser from ours.
If you have no joy finding a charity or women's shelter to take them, consider freecycling them. There is always demand for babygates around here.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls
