Thanks all - I'll keep trying then!

I've just ordered some plusgas as a lot of people seem to rate this more than WD40 etc, so if I still haven't sheared them by the time it arrives, I'll give that a go!

is it definatly bolts? the reason i ask is that we done a manifold on a transit and we thought it was bolts. turned out to be studs after we scrapped all the rust off them.
so we were able to use a small set of nut splitters on them, much quicker than heating them up and hoping the studs don't snap.

    good luck.

Its not so much that people "rate it" better than WD40, it is that plus gas is a penetrating oil, which is what you need. WD40 is a water dispersant, and isn't a very good penetrating oil.

Hi goldspanners - yeah, they're definitely bolts, straight into the manifold, with no nuts to get at!

Cheers pwllbwdr - I've realised the difference recently! I thought they were all similar products until now. That's my way - I'll research some things down to the fine detail before realising I've made an assumption on something glaring!
