they donot remove the voucher either ?to save time, so you could potentially take the voucher out and pop along to toysrus for some more?!

Our Smiths are putting a big black cross through the coupon barcode in every paper before putting them on the shelves.
They don't have to bother taking the coupon and you can't take it anywhere else.

the man in front of me at 8am in whsmith this morning only took one paper bought paid for 11 and was given 11 toys no problems,.

1 for himself and 10 to sell no doubt. That's why there should have been a token send off because there's a hell of a lot of greedy people.

I don't understand what the problem is with him PAYING for 11 copies and getting 11 sets free. After all he could have picked up 11 newspapers and put each one through as a seperate transaction and kept the queue long. Either way he would've still ended up with 11. For all you could know, he may have 11 children/grandchildren/relatives to share them amongst OR he may be saving them to send away with the xmas shoeboxes. IF you knew those were his intentions would you still think he was greedy?

After last Saturdays disappointment at Walton on Thames DH has gone early every morning to a different town to get lego without fail from WHS. No fighting, clambouring nor disgruntled customers. Deals like this are a bit of a lucky dip. You win some you lose some. It's not someone elses fault if they get in there first and after all stock is subject to availability. If DS misses out on one set of lego then so be it, he won't die because of it, in fact he won't even know he didn't get the set. I know I was a bit peeved last weekend when Walton claimed they didn't have them in at all but that was more to do with me mistrusting them as other stores had them in stock during the week already. Best way to get one of these deals is to get in there early.

AAARGH... i always do the shoeboxes and had completely forgotten about getting some of these for them, i have just been getting one per day (even though i have 3 children, i think they appreciate things more when they only have one between them and have to learn to share nicely)
... thanks for the reminder, will pop out and buy a few more papers/lego now specifically for that purpose, nice one for reminding me!

I've got to admit I think I must be quite sad, but I have actually quite enjoyed the challenge of getting up and organised early, getting to our local Sainsburys, buying 2 papers, cutting the vouchers out there and then and then queuing outside WH Smiths which is a few shops down from Sainsburys waiting for the doors to open. I've been there most day by 8.10 at the very latest and have been between 3 and 30 from the front, but for me, the best thing has been the camaraderie amongst everyone - So many people are usually so pig ignorant and a simple smile is hard enough, but everyone has been chatting away, nice and friendly with our kids love for lego being the common factor....

I'm not saying I'd want to continue doing this for longer than this week/end, but it's been really pleasant this week.

I am fortunate though to live within a mile of our local store, so that definitely helps and parking has been easy too.

I don't particularly agree with others getting 10 or more at a time, but then what do you set the limit at? I could have volunteered as it was easy for me to get up there to collect for loads of my sons friends - there again didn't want MUG tattood on my forehead. I did get a 2nd one each day for my son's best friend.

If people want to get multiples, I have no issue if it is purely for the benefit of other children they know of - but to try and sell them, sorry not even try, because they will and rip people off that couldn't get them because they had already beaten them to their nearest store, I do have an issue. But I do not know the best solution.

I had plenty of opportunity to buy big multiples, but seeing all those parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles and children queuing for the love of their children, they're the ones that should be able to get them, not me or anyone else to make a quick buck. The entrepreneurism and there's greed and selfishness and this definitely isn't entrepreneurism!

    Anyway enough of my waffle.

Hope all that have gone out of their way to get them have got them!

    Sue xx
