Maximum postage £4 but SND is £7

Options
I've got a jacket to list on eBay but there is a maximum postage restriction on the listing however SND would cost me more than that limit.

Is that something I'd just have to deal with or can it be worked around legitimately by selecting 'heavy and bulky items'?

I would be happy to select 2nd class but if in the unlikely event of the coat exceeding £46 I'd obviously like the extra cover SND provides.

Well if you're aiming to list in the current free listings weekend then simply weigh the jacket and it's packaging, work out the postage from the Royal Mail website and add that to the start price. As it's a free listing you can start the jacket at any price you want rather than the 99p for a free listing at any other time. If you calculate the post as if it were over the £46 limit in the first place then you've got it covered. You could then list as free P&P which should make your listing more visible.
  • Hmm I didn't think of that. Thank you.
