I'm over 25, work 40hrs a week, tax credits i get per week are

How come I get this much yet others seem to get so much less? Does it increase with hours worked, or is it due to my appallingly low earnings for what i earn right now. I'm self employed btw.

Everyone is different. It depends on your income and personal circumstances, for example
