Remove nail from brick

I tried removing a nail from brick (a picture was hanging from it and I don't know how the previous owners even got it in). Thing is the head has broken off after using a claw hammer. There is NIW nicest to pull on it even with pliers. Any ideas?
Thanks

Are you sure it's an ordinary nail?
or
maybe a 'ring shank nail' which might explain the head coming off!!
You may have to cut the shank of the 'nail' off flush with the brick surface with a pair of cutters, an angle grinder or a 'dremell' if it's small enough.C.R.A.P.R.O.L.L.Z # 40 spanner supervisor. No problem can withstand the assault of sustained thought.Only after the last tree has been cut down. Could be a ring shank nail. I dont have access to a grinder. Do you thing I could drill 4 small holes around the nail with a narrow drill bit to release it?
Thanks0 -

Thanks
Can you not bend it untill it snaps off by hitting it left and right alternately.
Be carefull as if it is a masonry nail it my snap and ping off suddenly instead of bending. (might want to wear goggles)“Careful. We don't want to learn from this.”0 -
Theres only about 4mm sticking out beyond plaster so no chance. Most if nail is in brick. Will try the drill and fill with polyfilla?0

What about hammering it in the rest of the way?0

I think if I did that I may just beat all the plaster off surrounding the nail. Really don't know how they got it into the brick so far.0

After I get this removed, what is the best way to hang a picture. It is wood frame, glass and is 100cm x 70cm. Medium weight. I have rawl plugs and screws but am thing I will need a washer to actually keep the frame string in place.0

Get an angle grinder and cut the protrusion off and the fill the hole.0

Use a nail punch, that should take it below the plaster surface, the polyfilla.

Mmmm. I don't have access to a nail punch. Tomorrow I will drill a hole directly below the nail in parallel so the nail should come out by wriggling it up and down. Will let you know how it goes. Will use polyfilla as suggested. Thanks again.0
