Can anyone help me find those missing 9 items please? I did think a mug to go with his coffee but I've bought him two personalised mugs in the past so that's no good. Oh, just to add, I am hoping that some of the gadget sites may have sales or vouchers avaiable next week, at the moment there's nothing out there because of Fathers' Day. Hopefully once that's over there will be some offers available to shift leftover stock
Planning to hit Tesco on Monday morning as well in the hope of picking up any discounted goodies.

Great ideas here - just one or two from me:
How about a list or jar/booklet of favourite memories - worth much more than stuff you can buy.
Also you could make a personalised choc bar wrapper for a bought bar - free templates online and personalise with pics as required
123budget re - you wanting printed stuff from 1961 - why not copy and paste stuff off web - old adverts or news - print it onto A4 and then either stick sheets together or get blown up to A3 as copiers.
Some packets of seeds - perhaps herbs or whatever is on offer
Lots of bookmark templates online too - perhaps get it laminated
Depending n how sentimental she is - how about pictures of all your family homes (or hers) old pictures of the village where she grew up. (Did this for lady who was 80 and she was more delighted than with stuff bought for her.)
Perhaps a 'free' picture book from suggestion on MSE - just pay postage.
Set up a free blog with blogger - real easy to do - add some pics and then get people to leave birthday wishes.Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0 -

I did this recently for my husband.
I got him an engraved whisky glass, golf things, voucher for him to choose our next holiday, an old football program from the year he was born, a photo collage, photo keyring, photo fridge magnet, lots of silly bits that were relevant to us. I also got him a selection of beers as we have just moved to another country for him to find one he likes.
Home made things included a list of the number ones every year since his birth, a "what happened on this day" list, hand and foot prints with a poem on for each of the kids and a reading from our wedding. I laminated them all. I got a load of old photos of him and made a dvd to music using movie maker.
He loved itGive me the boy until he's seven and i'll give you the man.0 -
