NAS Drive with external HDD attached Questions

Options
Hi,

I've got a 1tb buffalo NAS device attached to my network and the drive is mapped, no problem. i've attached another 1tb usb HDD to this and also mapped the drive, and can read it, and play the media from it.

But the USB HDD is read only and will not allow me to change the permissions all i get is access not allowed. Now obviously im doing something simple wrong so can anyone help?

I assume you get full access if you connect it straight to your PC via USB?
