Refund on hold?

Been given my refund for the faulty wii balance board I purchased on ebay.

But in paypal it says its on temporary hold.

Something to do with because the funds came out from my bank account rather than paying with my debit card.

Roughly how long will the refund be on hold for?

Amazingly the seller has refunded before I have returned the board, so guessing I'm ok to return it even though the refund is on hold?

Although Paypal pay the seller immediately, it takes3-5 days to take the money from your bank account. If you get a refund before the funds have cleared from your bank to Paypal - Paypal put it on hold until it does. Then you wait another 3 days for the refund to go back :-)

I had one recently where I bought a BIN item, paid from my bank, and the seller refunded the same day as the item had become broken and he couldn't sell it. I had to wait for the money to clear before PP would release the refund.

Ok, money has gone from my bank account, but obviously not been received by paypal themselves.

    Thanks for the info.
