Job seekers

Hi, my wife has been signing on for two months without getting any money as they have been looking into her case. After all this time they say she isn't intiteld to any because she hasn't payed enough class 1 . This has been taken of 2009- 10 where most of that year she was a self employed child minder . So my question is why is this year the one taken to qualify her on what about the years and years of class 1 payment prior to self employment. Thank you

    The relevant years are the 2 tax years prior to you putting in the claim. :)

    Not quite correct - the relevant years are the two tax years prior to the calendar year in which the claim is made.
