Hi,
I signed up to a new elec company on the 15th March and received the letter on the 18th saying it would be 5 or 6 weeks to do the change. At first I was told the transfer would take place on the 18th April,I have now got a letter saying it will be the 12th May.
How long should it take? and who fault is it the elec company I am with or the new one. This means I will be paying for elec at the old (higher) rate for another month!!
Any comments from people who have changed elec .
Thanks

4-6 weeks is the averageDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Hi, as the new company thought it would happen in April and now say May I would think it is the old company delaying. Is there an abnormal outstanding balance on the the old account? If you have been a reliable payer with them and any outstanding amount is less than a month or so of the normal payment I can see no reason for a delay. If the outstanding balance is in the hundreds of £'s they may be blocking the transfer. Have you had all the usual 'we are sorry to lose you letters/emails' ?0
