Dont update them ! The most recent maps are rubbish omitting many addresses.
I have an Old TomTom that will take me door to door anywhere in the EU. I also have a new one that wont even recognise many house numbers I type inThe DWP = Legally kicking the Disabled when they are down.0 -

AFAIK you need to pay for the updates you've missed first (so the £60 the OP states) and THEN get quarterly updates.0 -
Which tomtom is it? My go 720 only charged £15 on last update (last year) and usually tomtom will provide you a voucher every few months to use that brings the cost down.0

mine was direct from tomtom and i can't get the free update. apparently refurbed devices aren't covered by the latest map offer0
