Need to purchase Top Soil

Hello everyone!

I am almost finished gutting out my garden. I have noticed the garden is very low on top soil in certain areas, it may need at least 1000 ltrs to it.
Can anyone advise me on the best place to purchase. I live in London if this helps

Homebase sell it. Don't know how it compares pricewise to other sources though

100 litres isn't much, so you'll probably have to buy it pre-packed. Most garden centres sell it.

I have always got mine from Freecycle. It has almost always been very good quality, just a little sifting for large stones.

100 litres is not very much - are you sure about the amount?

100 litres is a large compost bag size.

B&Q £4.28 for 35 litres.

I'd be a little cautious with Freecycle as a source for topsoil. You can't be sure what has happened to the soil in terms of contamination and it is likely to come with free added weeds. For the small cost, I think I'd buy it from a reputable source.

I have just seen my error in my post, its not 100 ltrs but 1000 ltrs. I shall look at the various providers that you all have mentioned on here

Don't make the mistake of thinking that topsoil is what you need to plant stuff in though. It needs to be mixed with compost/organic matter to make a good planting medium.
