Can I Get 'Extras' from 3??

By the end of this month my 3 contract come to the end of 12 months. I'm happy with the service and my tariff so am sticking with them.

They don't do my tariff anymore but I've spoken to them and they will honour it if I stay put. But because they don't do the tariff anymore they said they can't do me any offers on it other than a free handset.

As it is I'm going to go for it - I'm on the Online 1400 which gives me 5hrs x-network mins and 1000 x-network texts a month and even 3 don't get anywhere near that now for my £30 a month.

BUT.... does anyone think I can squeeze anything out of them like a blu tooth handset or something similar? If so, how would you ask them... I'm not very bold to ask them really

If you go instore, like other stores you can ask for freebies.

If you renew online (recommended), find the best cashback deal with the phone that you want, make sure that the phone is in stock and then ring 3 and get them to match it.

They will (so long as its not a cheapo phone/ 100% cashback type deal) and because 3 give you the deal, you don't have to worry about claiming cashback manually.

They give further discounts if you have multiple phones with them - approximately 8 months cashback and a top-of-the-range phone is possible.

Note: Always ring 3, never negotiate when you are rung as this is sometimes not 3, but some dodgy authorised dealer.

When I phoned to cancel my Talk & Text 600 which I have on two phones, I was offered various deals at the time and later none of which were better than I could have got via cahback deals online.

I did agree that the current phones were converted to PAYG, at least as I thought the kids could use them.

A couple of weeks before the contract ran out I was again contacted. This time they made me an offer that I felt I couldn't refuse: 100 any time/network minutes and 100 text messages per month, apparently this tarrif normally costs £20 per month (although I can't find it on the 3 website), they offered it to me for £6.... per year (12mth contract). I agreed but later found out the price was wrong, it was in fact £5.50.

So basically I have 100 mins & 100 txts per month, for £5.50 for the year (which is payable in the 12th month). My phone's has been credited with nearly £300 (can't remember the exact amount), but I'm pretty happy with the deal.

i would do this in your shoes (ignore steps 1 and 4 if you don't need to keep your number):

1. get a pac code and port your number to a pay as you go (other than 3)

2. go through quidco and receive £100 cashback for an 18month contract direct from 3

3. You and a friend can both get an extra £30 knocked off your 2nd month's bill if you use someone else who is on also on 3 (recommed a friend offer) - this is available online at the time of the order where you have to input the friend's 3 number (I am on 3 if you want my number, message me)

4. get a pac code from your pay as you go provider and move your number back to 3

I am with 3 and i have 2000 texts, 600 mins of calls, 50 mms, 50 mins of video calling and £5 download, cost £15 a month and 18 month contract, which i find its a fantastic deal.

yes i think so, my phone is refurbished but then i took another contract out has it was a good deal and hubby uses that phone and his phone isnt refurbished.
