Housing benefit employer supplying conflicting information

I've been claiming housing and council tax benefit for a few months while on maternity leave but have now returned to work. I sent my payslips showing my increased wages to the council but they called today while I was at work and spoke to my husband saying they have received information from my work contradicting what I have told them. I've to call them back but it will be Monday now before I get them and I'm wondering what could be wrong.

I sent them Feb and March payslips which are still quite low so was still entitled to HB/CTB but my April - August will have back to work bonuses in them so won't be entitled. I have sent them April payslip this week to end my claim but they probably won't have it yet so do you think this is the discrepancy my work have told them. If it is it seems a bit premature to be calling about a pay I only received a week ago as they were quite abrupt with my husband and he says seemed to be saying we had given false details.

Anyone had anything like this happen to them as I'm probably going to worry all weekend now.
