Hello, is it technically possible for an organisation to stop emails to their email address from certain senders? Being involved in political debate I have found that my computer cannot send to a particular address irrespective of which email programme I use. Many thanks.

I assume you are getting a response back from System Admin, or Postmaster or something along those lines? What error code does it give?

Thanks br, the programmes answer something along the lines of `this address has not been recognised` though I know that the address is legitimate. And this response is instantaneous when attempting to send.

As I understand it, any email system allows one to block "unwanted" senders.

I recently attempted to send an email to a work contact and my emails kept 'bouncing-back' as the recipient's email mailbox (inbox) was full.

I wrote to them via snail-mail (letter sent via Royal Mail) instead, responding appropriately to their report and including a paragraph along the lines of "I originally attempted to respond to your report via email to anon@anonymous.ao.uk, but the email was returned with the message "this mailbox is currently full...".

    I hope this helps. :)

Jim22 - that does sound like a legitimate error/typo in the email address, as opposed to a blocked-sender issue (they tend not to occur instantly, but after a 4 to 7 second delay).

I'm quite good at solving these errors - if you want to PM me with the address you're using, I may be able to assist you in correcting any anomaly. I can assure you of my confidentiality and discretion (I work in local government myself).

Regardless of whether you take me up on this offer, I wish you the very best. x

Is that email from the postmaster at the destination domain - ie: the bit after the @ that you're trying to send to?

Sounds to me like the host domain's mail server is experiencing problems - how long has this problem been going on?

Another thought. Do you have another email address, @live (hotmail) or Google mail? You could try sending from an alternate address.

Blocking emails is VERY easy, there is usually a number of ways to do it. I would suggest try sending an email from an alternate email account and domain.

For example, email servers of @somecompany.co.uk can be configured to block all emails coming from bobsmith@hotmail.com, or even all of @hotmail.com emails.

They can even be setup to not even send bounce emails.
