I had N-Power at my door earlier, but we are locked into EDF until the end of December so told them there was no point in trying to sell to us.
They then told me as long as the bills do not show early termination fees, we wouldn't be liable to pay them.
They said this was now an industry required thing, but I'm not sure if he was lying to get us to switch, or telling the truth.
Anyone know? They claim to be able to save us £30 a month in total (based on our usage from Nov-Mar, not based on our current DD amount) which is a substantial sum, I think you'll agree!
Thank in advance

ANYTHING a Utility doorstep seller tells you......take with a very, very large pinch of salt - use a comparison site and input your annual usage figures in KWH!!!!0

There's no point in changing with a doorstep seller either. They can't offer you anything that you can't get yourself and it's so easy to change suppliers online.. just click a button and fill in a very small form. The contract will tell if there's get out fees, so read that to find out if your particular tariff has them.0

their will be a charge, or everyone would jsut be doing itDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Thank you for your advice. I am all too aware of what doorstep sellers will say, I am also aware of what I can do myself online and would not sign up to anyone based solely on what they say.
I was just curious about this 'rule' and whether or not it was true

I don't seem to get bills from EDF so I couldn't check but I guess we'd have heard about it here if a new rule had come in. I'd guess it's a new trick, one I haven't heard before.0
