Help!!!!!! Redundancy or Job Share - What Benefits

Hi All,
I have a conundrum.
I expect to be made redundant on Tuesday - no massive redundancy payout though - c.£8400 for 23 years service.
One option given to us as a possible alternative to redundancy(bascally there are two of us...one must go) is to Job share
I'm trying get all my figures together for both options so i can see if the job share will be a viable option.
I'd like to calculate what benefits my wife and i may be entitled to should 1.i except the redundancy or 2. accept a job share.
Basically my situation would be as follows;
Me..i'm 43, my wife...she's 40, and 2 daughters aged 13 and 5
We have c.£3000 in savings...oh and we also get child benefit
Income - if redundant
Earnings allready in 2011 - £2700 (gross)
Redundancy Payment - expected to be £8400
Partners expected Income 2011 - £7300 per annum (16hrs)
JSA after redundancy - £???
Income - if job share
Earnings allready in 2011 - £2700 (gross)
Remaing Salary in 2011 for job share - £15350 (gross)
Partners expected Income 2011 - £7300 per annum (16hrs)
I'm hoping there may be some experts out there who have a better idea of what benefits we would be entitled to - i've tried various websites, but i keep geting lots of different figures. Most ask for combined earnings in the financial year 2010-11 which is c.£40K ....but that has, or is about to change dramatically.
If i take the redundancy payment would we be entitled to working tax credit/child tax credit?....would anybody have an idea how much this would be?
if i take the job share would we be entitled to working tax credit/child tax credit?....would anybody have an idea how much this would be?
I dont know what other information anyone would need to help me get my head around the benefits system - but i'm happy to post any that would be required.
Many thanks in advance.

come nextapril your wifes hours wouldnt be sufficient to get wtc. so it all depends on how hopeful you are that you will gain employment before then.
on a job share basis........you and your wife would get some help.
i suppose it depends on how you veiw things.
would you rather be working or on benefit?0 -
You would be entitled to JSA of £65 a week for six months. Tax credits child about £108 per week.0
