Growing cress - where did I go wrong?

Now, now SirBrainy! lol!
I liked Emiff's idea of treating cress the same way as alfafa which I do grow and successfully I might add. You know, it's really weird as you'd think the packet instructions should be enough but it isn't. I have been googling for ways to go cress and the websites I went to all differ. It was mentioned earlier in this thread not to put cress seeds in the airing cupboard yet they have germinated just great in there. The packet said to put in a dark place and yet others say put on a windowsill. So confusing.
I'm also thinking that keeping a lid on is too much for the cress causing it to wilt.0 -
My cress seeds failed several times when I tried to grow them on kitchen paper so I put some compost in the bottom of a plastic tub which I had once bought cress in. I just put a piece of paper on top of it for a couple of days and kept it on the worktop in my kitchen. The seeds all sprouted quite quickly then I removed the paper and just let them grow to the top of the tub and they looked just like a bought pack.0

I found they dont like static water, Tried them on a dinner tray.
Moist base, Flooded base. They just did not compare to the cress i grew with a slight trickle of
water from my pond. Maybe they remove the nutrients in the water too quickly.
Try watering more often & change any water left over.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
