Little credit card advice

I have a credit card with Marks and Spencer that has nothing to pay off on it. The introductory offers on it finished a long time ago. I need to put a flight on a credit card now and I'm wondering if it's best to put it on the current card and transfer the balance to a new one that offers 0% on balance transfers to avoid paying interest. Or, just apply for a completely new card with 0% on purchases?

Will it harm my credit rating to have more than one card?

You'll almost certainly incur 2 lots of fees...one for the flight booking and another for the BT. Could amount to 5% or more?

    Highly unlikely.

Hmm maybe it's best to apply for an entirely new card then and cancel the old one.

If you're not in a rush, as it will likely take a few weeks at least to get a new card in your hands, go for the new card with a 0% offer. Virtually all the balance transfer offers include a 2-3% fee to transfer.

Thanks, I ended up going with the Tesco credit card. 0% on purchases for 13 months is more than adequate for what I'll be using it for :)
