Template Letter - person has died

I need to write to several organisations including banks, insurance and mortgager company to inform them of my partners death.

Is there a template letter on the site somewhere?

I have just received the coroners interim death certificate. Is this suitable to send to organisations or do I have to wait for the inquest and final register of death?

I have most of the paperwork together (bank satements etc) so I was going to send them a letter just to inform them, even if I cant actually go any further until inquest ( she has an outstanding balance on a credit and I want to make they stop the interest)

Again, huge thanks to eveybody so far. I dont honestly feel I would have been able to get this far without all your help and support.

We only had the interim death certificate after my dad died and most were ok to accept this. Some just wanted to see the full certificate after the inquest.

For the letter all I did was inform each organisation of the date he had died, and ask them of the next steps that they required me to take. I found that I was changing the letter most times, so really didn't use a template.

    Sorry for your loss.

good plan, although bear in mind that if there's no money in her estate to settle it, then the debt dies with her.

I wrote far fewer letters than I expected: I took Dad's death certificate into all the banks where he had accounts, gave them his address and account numbers, told them my name and address and that I was one of the executors. They took a copy of the certificate and closed the accounts, wrote to me with figures later.
