Threatening Call - Scotcall

Hi
Im just wondering if anyone has had any dealings with Scotcall?
As per previous threads Ive been attempting to negotiate a F&F settlement with them in writing and they just keep ringing and ringing me and wont put anything in writing.
Anyway Ive just put the phone down on a rather threatening individual who left me a little shuck up :(
The original debt is with Orange...should I go through them directly? the guy from Scotcall said Orange wont deal with me now as it has been passed onto them to deal with.
Just wondering if this is true and if anyone else has had any dealing with Scotcall?
Thanks as always
SnS

Some debts are fun when you are acquiring them, but none are fun when you set about retiring them!!!
It's amazing how fast later comes when you buy now!!!!

Dear Sirs
Harassment by telephone
FORMAL COMPLAINT
Account Number: XXXXXXX
I am writing in relation to the quantity and frequency of telephone calls that I have received from your company, which I deem to be personally harassing.
I have verbally requested that these stop, but I am still receiving calls.(Delete if necessary)
I now require all further correspondence from your company to be made in writing only.
I am of the view that your continued harassment of me by telephone puts you in breach of Section 40 of the Administration of Justice Act 1970, and the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.
If you continue to harass me by telephone, you will also be in breach of the Communications Act (2003) s.127 and I will report you to OFCOM, Trading Standards and The Office of Fair Trading, meaning that you will be liable to a substantial fine.
Please treat this also as a formal complaint, and send me a copy of your company complaints procedure.
Be advised that any furthertelephone calls from your company will be recorded. (**Even if you don‘t yet have recording equipment!!**)
Yours faithfully,

Also, just wondering your thoughts on Orange? Shall I go directly to them with F&F or stick with Scotcall?
Thank you

There is no law to say that you need to deal with a DCA, I had a bill come through from a DCA about a water bill, I waited until 2nd letter came threatening all sorts and called up WC and paid them.
It depends if Scotcall has bought your debt from Orange or acting on their behalf.
Can you make a payment to Orange and are you looking for a reduced rate?
It really depends or those 2 factors on who to deal with.
If DCA has bought debt then you are more likely to get a reduced settlement but if acting for orange more likely to will have to pay full amount.
If acting then annoy DCA and go direct to Orange.I all have learnt is from others on many sites.

Good advice from King100, Scotcall are very much bottom feeders in the world of DCAs so you may be able to sort it with Orange0
-
Just call Orange and sort it with them. If they tell you they've sold the debt you may have no choice, so make sure everything is done in writing with Scotcall, don't speak to them on the phone again.0

Hi
Scotcal are a load of (not repeatable)
If I were you I would also send them a prove it letter

orange can be very strict once passed to dca's about taking payment.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Thanks chanz, can I just check how you mean? Do you mean they are less likely to accept a F&F offer from me and will expect me to go through DCA?
Or do u just mean they will be strict with any F&F I offer them?
