Door mirrors?

Someone swiped a door mirror off my 09 Mini....if I get the new one (which you have to buy all the bits separately) from the dealer and they fit it it comes to almost £400!:eek:

I've been googling all over the place trying to find where else to get one....anyone out there have any ideas!

Mirror from a local scrap yard? then find a local back street independent garage to fit it.

It's a pretty easy job if you get one the same colour as yours. The dealership are charging more as they will have to assemble and paint it, wheras a scrap yard will just unbolt the complete unit for you to bolt on.

Out of interest, is it the driver or passenger side which is gone?

Try eBay aswell, I recently got a new mirror glass very cheap and noticed a few auctions for the whole mirror section for my car.

Mini parts will come with a premium but as said above, eBay or a local scrap yard.

I had my Polo one off at New Year. Local dealer was £60 for electronics, £30 for casing, £40 labour, £25 painting, £15 for glass...and VAT on top.

Found a local place which buys new parts...£45 for whole unit, £10 fit at my local garage. If you're in SE Manchester area, I can pass their details on.

I've seen lots on ebay for earlier models (up to 2006) so I'll try and find out if the fittings are the same.

Someone stole the mirror glass from my car one night, not much use without the backplate (heated mirrors) and yes it did make me laugh

New genuine part (in a box with the GM/Vauxhall hologram stickers) on Ebay was £20 and took less than 60 seconds to fit.

A friend of mine bought the glass/mirror part from ebay for a couple of quid so try there or try a local scrappy,

I expect the above will need painting so a second hand, correct colour mirror would be easier and cheaper.

upto 2006 but they look identical to the 07 onwards ones

(Without looking) If it is electronic, the connectors may be different for that years spec.
