Sorry I don't know where to post this but it seems a lot of money has been wasted on his education as he doesn't know what the Cenotaph was there for or is just a snivelling conniving parasitic liar?
"He was among thousands of people who protested in Trafalgar Square and Parliament Square and was photographed hanging from a union flag on the Cenotaph during the march.
Gilmour issued an apology the day after the demonstrations, describing it as a "moment of idiocy", and adding that he did not realise the Whitehall monument commemorated Britain's war dead"

Well I'll be fair - we were never even told about the existence of the Cenotaph when I was at school.
I imagine were this to occur in the United States, and it were the American flag that he had chosen to use for his Tarzan impersonations, there would be almost a national uproar about it. It is both impressive and disconcerting the pride that Americans seem to have in their national flag and to use it for anything other than national pride seems to be akin to desecration and almost regarded treasonous by the populous.
In this case, however, I think we have a case of little rich boy assuming that whatever actions he chooses to undertake can be swept under the carpet with a simple apology.0 -
I'd say that he was being economical with the truth in an attempt to mitigate the insult. I see no proof that he's either snivelling, conniving or parasitic unless being the child of a multimillionaire makes one parasitic.
I think all this publicity may have put paid to some careers he could be considering except banking, of course. I think he'd fit right in there.0 -
a silly boy who got carried away with the flow of the day, i know it's difficult to understand but it does happen - not all of us have that built in filter in the brain which says "hey, that's a really bad idea, i shouldn't do that". I'm not admonishing him - he'll rightly be dealt with by the courts - but ultimately he's done it, raking it up as if to brand him will mean he'll only grow bitter about it as opposed to learning a very valuable lesson that in future it's probably wise to protest without forgetting the social conventions.Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.0

It's because they have no royal family. Our armed forces swear to serve queen and country, their armed forces swear allegiance to the flag. The US flag has become basically personified.0
