Clubcard Vouchers Stolen and Spent

I phoned up Tesco Customer Services on Saturday to ask about my Clubcard Vouchers that hadn't arrived yet.

They said that I had spent them on 30 Nov, which is interesting because I haven't had any! I had 1800 points so am a bit miffed. They said I hadn't used my Clubcard since 27 Nov and would investigate it and call me back.

I've not heard anything from them yet. Has anyone else had this happen? And did they get the points back? I have recently moved flat but had told them my new address a while back. Either they have gone to my old address and been spent by the new occupants or they've been stolen in the post.

Thanks.

  • Thats terrible. I hate things like that where you have no way of proving you didn't get them so it is up to the kindness of a stranger. Maybe they will trace them back if the person was silly enough to have used a clubcard with the purchase.
I know how long it takes to save up points so I feel awful for you.
Be polite but firm with them, it's not their fault but it is certainly not yours either!!
:T Benjamin has won!!! Am soooo proud. Thank you to everyone who agreed my baby was the cutiest. Want to go round and hug everyone who voted, it means so much to me!:A

I have had similar but the thing is you have to present your clubcard with the vouchers or they are not supposed to be ableto take them........so not sure how they managed it, tescos are sending new vouchers to me, I have written to them asking them to check with store I supposedly spent them at as never been to that area let alone the store there.

If you use a keyfob clubcard there are no names or personal details on them, just the barcode! Some SAs are also not too bothered if the name on the card doesn't match...

The keyfob has your clubcard number written just below it so they should be checking that this matches what's on your vouchers. You are right though most aren't bothered if they match or not.

Well most of the time they always ask for a clubcard first and after your shop you hand in your vouchers.

I'm surprised people still use these as they are worth 4x as much in deals. The other day someone in front of me used £40 in tesco vouchers on here shopping thats £160 in deals. And it's not like tesco hide the fact it's on every checkout i go to.
  • this happened to my mum she phoned head office an they sed that if they hadnt been spent they could have cancelled them but i think its unfair u shop at there stores to gain the points some re-embursement should be made this is why i dont feel so quilty about the r+r thing...lol
Which came first the chicken or the egg....suppose it depends on which one is mispriced...i know not funny :o

    how awful :(

did they tell you which store they had been spent at? they should be able to tell you if they posted them to your old address.

i'd persevere, and ask if the person who spent them used a credit card.

I always use my cc vouchers in Tesco just before Christmas. It's basically because none of the deals are suitable for us and we can't be bothered going through the hassle of selling deals tokens on ebay. It's still a bonus having our xmas shopping paid for us!!

I thought that each voucher had a unique code that was matched to your cc? A few weeks ago, a self-scan would not allow me to use a clubcard voucher until I scanned my clubcard.

Also, the cashier does not check the name/number as it says in the T&Cs that vouchers can be pooled by people in one household.

Just to keep you updated...Tesco said they would investigate and when I didn't hear anything back from them, I phoned CS again and they told me they had been re-issued. Finally received them this week, hoorah!
No idea what happened to the original lot, someone has got a freebie out of it.
