Yes, that's an option. It's probably not a very helpful observation though given that OP has stated that she is an expectant mother., for when my wife gives up work for maternity leave.
Don't think the OP will be pleased you have changed their sex:rotfl:

You admit you left the handbrake off and caused the damage...
You offered to pay for the damage but now trying to get out of it because its three months down the line...
I think you should just pay for the damage and not involve the insurance.. the £360 + VAT will pale into insignificance compared to loss of no claims bonus and having to declare an accident on your next renewal (although really you should still declare it but thats up to you)
A big believer in karma, you get what you give :A
If you find my posts useful, "pay it forward" and help someone else out, that's how places like MSE can be so successful.0 -
No, its not true.
The OP has actually stated he is an expectant father!
Quite right... :embarasse
That'll teach me to pick up other's lack of attention to detail and fall flat on my face.....

After 24 hours I called the police. They said nothing could be done- if I tried to move it I was liable for damage caused- if we hit it again we would be liable. They couldnt trace owner as registered overseas. They were quite clear that if I touched it to bounce it out of the way the owner could take action against me (I assume for any damage but they didn't specifically say that)
So the fact the car was blocking you would not be an excuse for hitting it.
Agress with vaio, its a obstruction and the Police should have moved it, I think the Police didnt want to call a truck out to just move it to the side, or impound it because it was a vehicle that is from a diffrent country and therefore some rules are diffrent.
e.g they dont need insurance on it, lol.0
