How can she say to manage your money better.. that's the whole point of a budget! Ignore her... she obviously doesn't know the true value of money.Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

My guess is she didn't like you not complying and that comment was a deliberate rise to get at you and make you feel uncomfortable. You can't afford it full stop, there isn't any shame in that but if you don't want to say that you can make all end of excuses/find ways around it - I have big heaps of cr&p as do others that you are welcome to give to your secret santa if you want to take part. My wife has been know to say ooh my husband manages the money I don't think he'll allow that, but only when doing a sh&tty temporary with no prospects. Could you give Michael a really nice graduation/card/cake/photo something with thought, so seen to contribute (If you like him that is) a cake is cheap and shows effort?. Or say you are sponsoring a dog/african child and deliberately do this because you felt better to give there. You don't want to look mean ostracised it coudl be spun you are subsidising other people, I know it isn't but a poisonous voice can plant seeds so be seen to contribute but in personal (cheap) ways. How about a money plant for michael if you like him as a symbol of his growing flourishing prosperous career (hopefully elsewhere)saintly wrote:Well an update this morning, I came in to work ready to speak to her, was just about to until my cow of a boss butted in. anyway after they had finished their conversation about what clothes they were wearing for a night out she turned to me and said “I am starting a collection for michaels graduation present, I need £10 from everyone preferably before christmas”0 -
You really should go to personel about this situation it is bullying. It is absolutly outrageous that a manager is allowing this to continue. In the past i have been hesitant to speak to HR but once i did things were sorted. You could go off the record and establish what is company policy, they wont do anything without your permission.0

Aw hun, have just read this and am stunned!! It is so mean to try to belittle you and to try to force you to behave in the way she thinks you should. People make assumptions that are often very wide of the mark. I well rember a horrific and very embarrasing exchange when I was on a teacher training placement. I was in the staff room minding my own business, when I had a tin shoved under my nose and was told that "we normally give £5 or so" this was for a member of staff who I hadn't even met(she was off on a maternity leave) I didn't have any money on me and was told that it was ok tomorrow my mentor (the most nasty and spiteful woman EVER) would put my share in and then I had to sit there whilst they discussed student grants etc. B!tchie called me up that evening to "remind me" to bring in HER £5 to school. Point is they were all comfortable, good salary, nice car...........I know EXACTLY what I'd say if someone tried to pull that trick NOW! Keep your chin up YOU are right she is just a nasty(non Moozie type)C*W.Blind as you run...aware you were staring at the sun.
And when no hope was left inside on that starry starry night.
