Can I use the same Microsoft Office license on 2 computers?
I bought it about 7 years ago and use it on my laptop but I have a netbook that came with with a 3 months free trial which has now expired, can I use the same licence key code on both?

Supposed to be possible for a desktop and a laptop, it seems to hinge on it not being used on both machines simultaneously. It says a primary and a portable device, installing it is about the only way to see if Office can tell if both are portable devices. You will probably need to remove the trial version and install Word from your installation disc.
Maybe run CCleaner scan for issues after removing the trial version and check with disc clean up for the office installation files and remove those

Or you could simply download & install Libre Office/Open Office, which are both free and likely to be more up-to-date than your old version of Word - either of which will open & save to Word document formats.0

That is true, but it only applies to the retail versions, and not to the OEM ones - the EULA is different.0 -
Supposed to be possible for a desktop and a laptop...
My license states this and it runs fine on my desktop as well as my laptop. Both have been working and updated simulatiously in the past without Micro$oft complaining.“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. The time is always right to do the right thing.”0 -
Thanks for the replies, my netbook hasn't got a CD drive so I would need an external one to install my old version, I was hoping I would have just been able to ust the licence code, I may have a look at the free stuff.

You don't need a CD drive, all you need to do is copy all the office CD contents into a folder on a USB flash drive from your PC. You can then plug the USB into your laptop and run the setup.exe file.0 -

Or just share the optical drive on your other computer so it's accessible from your netbook, then install it from there.0
