I was like you and very scared about everything. when I went to court i got myself really worked up about it, but it was over very quickly and everyone there was really nice.
I did have to see the judge, but he was nice an understanding and I was only in with him for 5mins.
I was worried about the or interview too ,but again the lady was really nice and didnt judge. Just went through my forms and checked a few things that I had put down. She was friendly and quite normal and it was over quite quickly.
I think if you take proper advice and just tell the truth you will be ok. Dont try to hide anything and get everything off your chest.

    Hi Mandyl

I think practices differ in different areas. It's certainly nothing to worry about.

But where I live (covered by Plymouth OR) not everyone gets called in for a face-to-face interview. From what I've observed, if you have had a business, you will probably get one. If you have not, you won't - just a phone call or two.

The courts do their bankruptcy appts in the morning, then fax your paperwork to the OR who tries to phone you at home in the afternoon.

Your local bankruptcy court should be able to reassure you if you're still concerned.

P.S. And I've been to court with dozens of clients - not one has been called in to see a judge - in every case the bankruptcy clerk has told us to get a cup of coffee while she sorts out that side - we pick up the completed paperwork 30 minutes later.

The decision on the bankruptcy is made there and then.

If you are clearly insolvent and have taken advice on what you are doing then the chances of the BR being refused are virtually nil.

    hi mandy,

i was in and out in 40mins including phone interview with ORs office, court staff are helpful and you dont always see a judge,i didnt and i had very large debts.

good luck the relief you will feel after this is huge although sometimes it takes a while for it to sink in.
